Indulge in the ultimate winter comfort with this Maple Whisky Hot Chocolate—a rich and velvety treat with just the right balance of sweetness and warmth. The deep, caramelized notes of Wabanaki Maple’s Whisky Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup elevate classic hot chocolate, adding a touch of smoky sophistication. 

Dark chocolate brings an intense cocoa flavor, while a hint of sea salt rounds out every sip. Topped with whipped cream, a drizzle of maple, and chocolate shavings, this cozy drink is perfect for slow mornings or a fireside nightcap.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp Wabanaki Maple Whisky Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup

  • 4 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher), chopped

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

  • Whipped cream (for topping)

  • Extra maple syrup & chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk and heavy cream until steaming (but not boiling).

  2. Add the chopped dark chocolate and whisk until fully melted and smooth.

  3. Stir in the Whisky Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Pour into a mug, top with whipped cream, and drizzle with extra maple syrup. Finish with a sprinkle of chocolate shavings or sea salt.
